Jordan Klapman is, in a word, versatile: a pianist, silent film accompanist, bandleader, music director, composer, and a popular music lecturer.

One of Canada’s busiest silent film accompanists, pianist of The Wintergarten Orchestra, he teaches uniquely “edu-taining” courses on 20th century popular music at universities and learning centres throughout the Greater Toronto Area and beyond.

Over the past decade Jordan’s musical lectures have taken him across Canada and beyond. Diverse audiences and venues including Ryerson University’s LIFE Institute, The Miles Nadal JCC, The Koffler Centre, major synagogues throughout the GTA, numerous continuing education groups, music festivals, and an extensive number of public and private residences.

Ragtime, Stride, Traditional and Mainstream Jazz, Bossa Nova, R&B, Broadway show-tunes, The Great American Songbook, Soft Rock, his own original compositions: Jordan plays them all.
